The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa, Bath Celebrates 250 Years

Royal Crescent Hotel Bath

The modernly-elegant Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa, Bath unveils RC250, a collection of specially-created experiences to commemorate 250 years of the iconic Royal Crescent. One of the world’s finest examples of Georgian architecture, its design encapsulates Bath’s heritage and has captivated visitors with its magnificent sweep and majestic columns since its creation by the architect John Wood the Younger on May 19, 1767. At the heart of this landmark, the Hotel offers the ultimate celebratory package inclusive of a Taittinger Tasting Menu, bespoke body oil and massage, limited edition bottle of gin, and more. The RC250 Suite Stay is available at the hotel, a member of Relais & Chateaux, between May and October for £2500 (approximately $3045 USD).

The RC250 Taittinger Tasting Menu takes guests on a gastronomic journey through the last 250 years using local West Country produce with a historical spin. A sampling of dishes from the six-course menu include Mackerel Tartar, Salt Marsh Lamb and Gooseberry and Elderflower Crumble. Toasting the anniversary in style, each course will be paired with Taittinger Champagnes, such as Taittinger Prestige Rose NV and Taittinger Nocturne NV.

To really capture the sense of occasion, The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa has partnered with The Bath Gin Company to create a specialist run of RC250 Gin. Using the first still in the city for 250 years, The Bath Gin Company created 250 limited edition bottles of gin in honor of the anniversary. Numbered one to 250, guests enjoying the RC250 Suite Stay will be able to take home a 700 ml bottle, an exclusive collector’s piece as a memento of their experience.

Paying homage to Bath’s history as a spa city, The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa has also created a bespoke RC250 body oil and massage in collaboration with boutique British spa brand Elemental Herbology. This 90-minute treatment has been designed to leave guests feeling relaxed and invigorated with a macadamia and papaya scrub followed by a deep, targeted massage. The exclusive treatment can be further enjoyed with a commemorative bottle of RC250 body oil containing natural oils found in the RC250 Bath Gin, grapefruit, juniper berries and geraniums.

Extra special touches come with an exclusive history booklet by famed Bath writer Jeremy Seal, a special RC250 Floris Gift set, a commemorative caddy of RC250 Ronnefeldt Tea, and a unique RC250 chocolate box made in conjunction with British cocoa brand, Hotel Chocolat.

To further mark the celebrations, guests also have the option of purchasing a pair of specially commissioned Royal Crescent watercolor prints, created by local artist Richard Briggs, or taking in the sights of Bath from the sky with a memorable dawn or dusk flight in the magnificent Taittinger Hot Air Balloon.

Available through October, the RC250 Suite Stay is £2500 (approx. $3045 USD) for two nights based on two people sharing a suite. The package includes: suite accommodations, a pre-dinner RC250 cocktail, an RC250 spa treatment for two people and complimentary oil, the RC250 Tasting Menu with Taittinger Champagnes for two people, a commemorative caddy of RC250 Ronnefeldt Tea, a Floris RC250 gift box, a RC250 Hotel Chocolat Chocolate box and an exclusive bottle of RC250 Bath Gin along with a special cocktail booklet.
