The five-star luxury resort has been recently awarded “The Best Wedding Hotel” by World Tourism Forum

San Clemente Palace Kempinski, the Venetian luxury resort, uniquely located on its own private island eight minutes away from St. Mark’s Square, has officially opened for the 2017 wedding season.

The five-star retreat nestled in the heart of the Venetian lagoon was recently awarded “The Best Wedding Hotel 2017” by the World Tourism Forum at the annual World Tourism Awards. These awards are considered the “Oscars” of the tourism industry, celebrating the very best in travel, tourism and hospitality.

With its uniquely historic heritage and stunning views of the Venice skyline, San Clemente island is the ultimate location for all types of weddings. On the doorstep of the most beautiful and romantic city in the world, the island is an idyllic destination in itself, offering a number of stunning indoors and outdoors event spaces.

For larger weddings, grand events with up to 1,000 guests can be held in the island’s lavish gardens and centuries-old park. The entire island – including the resort’s 190 rooms and suites, three dining outlets, various event venues and wellness facilities – can also be booked for exclusive use.

For more intimate celebrations, the island offers secluded, romantic venues, including an outdoor ceremony atop Sunset Hill, affording the best views of Venice at sunset. Another option is San Clemente Palace Kempinski’s own gourmet restaurant, Acquerello, where inventive Italian cuisine is served on the terrace overlooking the lagoon and St. Mark’s Square. Also on the island is the 12th-century San Clemente Church, the ideal backdrop for any traditional ceremony. As one of the oldest churches in Venice, it has been ranked among the most beautiful hotel wedding chapels in the world.

The resort’s first weddings of the 2017 season will take place in mid-May, welcoming couples and guests from Germany and Austria. Weddings – including of couples from the UK and USA – continue throughout the summer and reach a peak in September.
