The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (FPA2) has unveiled the 63 exceptional lots to be auctioned during the 2nd Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean on 26 September 2018.
Under the hammer of renowned Master of Ceremony Simon de Pury, invaluable artworks, stunning jewellery and experiences of a lifetime will delight lovers of extraordinary pieces, some of which are unique.
HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco brings celebrities including Madonna, Mick Jagger, Toni Garrn, Kelly Slater and Andy Garcia who are offering personalised unique experiences; while modern art lovers will be seduced by artworks from iconic artists including Jeff Koons, Piotr Uklanski, Doug Aitken, Francesco Vezzoli, Rostilav Romanov and Julian Schnabel among others.
The success of the auction will aid the global initiatives supported by the Foundation, thanks to the funds raised. Leading figure in the art world, Simon de Pury said: “Prince Albert II is one of the lone warriors alongside few others who fight to save our planet. When you hear only 3% of global philanthropies support the environment it’s scary. I feel honoured this year again to lend my support to the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation”.
Proceeds will be distributed to the Foundation’s priority marine programmes: plastic pollution, scientific studies on acidification, coral protection, marine protected areas, endangered species and innovative technologies. The inaugural 2017 Gala raised $14mUSD and enabled the Foundation to implement 37 new marine conservation projects around the world and 2 programmes to fight against plastic pollution.
