“Nikola Tesla EV Rally in Croatia 2019”, officially the most beautiful and quietest rally in the world ended with a spectacular race on May 19 in Zagreb. In its 6th year, this unique rally comprises a luxury tour of the finest sights, nature, hotels and gourmet experiences that Croatia has to offer. An 8-day luxury electric vehicle rally over 1,550 started in Novi Vinodolski, visiting Dubrovnik the pearl of Adriatic, Cavtat, Ston, Red and Blue Lake heading north to Šibenik, then inland to Smiljan, Plitvice Lakes and finishing in Zagreb with spectacular “Drag race” in city center , who is also the patron of this yearꞌs rally.
Special guest at award ceremony was Mayor of Zagreb, mr. Milan Bandić who welcomed the participants of rally into Croatiaꞌs Capital and presented the trophies to 1, 2 and 3 place winners. City of Zagreb is supporting rally since 2014. and is very active in promoting e-mobility and use of e-vehicles in city center to reduce CO2 emission and noise.
The electric vehicle revolution is taking off in Croatia, largely due efforts of the rally organisers, and full charging options are catered for. As just one part of its contribution to sustainable tourism, the Nikola Tesla EV Rally is the only rally in the world which leaves infrastructure for e-vehicles behind. This includes a charging station donated at the birthplace of Tesla in Smiljan.
The rally attracts a truly international field each year, this year mostly from Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Belgium and it’s supported by HTZ (Croatian Tourist Board) as it is a great opportunity to brand Croatia as “E-mobility friendly” destination through this unique e-luxury tour.
