The Levee, a new, luxury hospitality product in Tel Aviv for guests seeking space, comfort and a home-away-from-home feel with the highest level of design and amenities in the city, announces its official opening this month.
Situated in the quaint Neve Tzedek district, Tel Aviv’s original neighborhood, The Levee is located within a historic Eclectic architecture-style villa built in 1913 and underwent nine years of meticulous restoration to manifest eight, spacious, luxury apartments for the discerning traveler. The Levee features an on-site concierge, daily turndown service, gym access, rooftop Jacuzzi and other elements of a hotel, but with the space and feel of a private home.
Living space at The Levee
Each apartment at The Levee is fitted to offer guests a truly authentic experience with the space and intimacy of living and feeling like a resident. From it’s high windows and ceilings ranging from 3- to 3.5-meters in height, spacious rooms, top-quality bedding, Italian furnishings and artisanal amenities, The Levee allows guests to reside within the original zeitgeist of Tel Aviv with the bells and whistles of a modern hospitality experience.
Apartments at The Levee range from 115-280 square meters in size, with fully fitted kitchens, en-suite bathrooms, Egyptian cotton linens, private balconies, state-of-the art televisions, sound systems, high-speed complimentary WiFi and a 24/7 concierge service. Prices begin at $950USD per night for a one-bedroom apartment and up to $7,000USD per night for the 4th Floor Penthouse. All bookings must be for a minimum of two nights.
Originally named The Gurevitch House, the villa was first built in 1913 and is part of Tel Aviv’s UNESCO World Heritage Site for its 4,000 Bauhaus and Eclectic architecture-style buildings. Prior to reopening as The Levee, The Gurvetich House underwent a meticulous restoration and transformation process with Bar Orian Architects, including a complete removal of wall coatings to expose the building’s original cement and features, exposing the wabi sabi-type beauty of Tel Aviv’s historic villas. The Levee symbolizes the past and future of Tel Aviv through its combination of a perfectly restored historic building with the addition of an extended back structure of the building, as well as a rooftop-spanning penthouse with metal grating and 360-panoramic windows that look out into the neighborhood and Tel Aviv cityscape.
Israeli-Belgian designer Yael Siso designed the interior layout of The Levee, coupling the building’s loft-like interiors, untreated cement walls and high-windows and ceilings with European furnishings, warm wooden floors, design-savvy accessories and minimalist lighting schemes. International furniture and design brands fashion the interiors of each apartment at The Levee, including signature pieces from Minotti, Molteni, Cassina, Moroso, Paola Lenti, Baxter, Bonaldo, Moooi, Kristalia, Saba Italia, Linie Design and Nani Marquina.
Hadar Ben Dov, General Manager of The Levee said, “The Levee is a new and much-needed hospitality product in Tel Aviv for travelers looking for a home-away-from-home feel with contemporary and luxurious amenities, and enough space to enjoy with family or friends. With the fully fitted kitchens and spacious living areas, guests will experience true comfort in their own, private oasis, amidst the bustle of the city.”
