Audi has once again made its armored security sedan even more robust. For instance, from now on the safety cell of the new Audi A8 L Security will integrate extremely resistant materials – aramide fabric, special aluminum alloys and a hot-formed steel armor that offers even more protection despite its lower weight. Audi engineers also further developed the vehicle’s glazing. These improvements mean that the total vehicle is now certified to the requirements of resistance class VR 9. It has been tested for resistance to explosive charges in accordance with the ERV 2010 guideline. Previously, the A8 L Security fulfilled resistance class VR 7.
Mercedes-Maybach Pullman Guard
The absolute flagship model from Mercedes-Maybach with face-to-face seating configuration behind the glass partition is now also available to order as a Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Pullman Guard. As a result, heads of state and other individuals at particular risk have a highly exclusive vehicle at their disposal. The first customer vehicles will be delivered in the second half of 2017.

Hand built at Land Rover’s Oxford Road facility in the UK, the vehicle is the based on the standard wheelbase Range Rover Autobiography and provides the highest levels of protection an SUV can offer. Designed to withstand the most damaging and targeted threats the vehicle is verified to VR8 standard against ballistic threats, meaning it can withstand armour piercing incendiary bullets and the blast from DM51 grenade explosions. In addition to this level of security the Range Rover Sentinel retains Land Rover’s huge breadth of capability and uncompromised levels of luxury and refinement. The vehicle has no differences on the exterior to the standard Range Rover Autobiography, despite its level of protection.
