Starting next month, the highly anticipated Dolce & Gabbana / SMEG Small Appliance Collection will be available to purchase at Williams Sonoma and Neiman Marcus (pre-orders available only at Neiman Marcus). The breakfast set, which includes the Citrus Juicer, the 2-Slice Toaster and Electric Kettle will be available in March, and the remaining products in the collection will be available later this year.
Inspired by the stunning natural landscapes of Sicily around Mount Etna and the Valley of the Temples, the warm glow of the sun and cool turquoise waters, beautifully bright blooms of southern scrubland and intricate geometrical patterning are the images that fashion, culture and cinema have led us to associate with this Mediterranean island. A wealth of imagery that has been given a contemporary twist to usher creativity and fun into any kitchen. Toasters, citrus juicers, coffee machines, kettles, blenders, stand mixers and slow juicers all decorated with gold lemons, citrus fruits, prickly pears and bright red cherries are just some of the typical Sicilian decorations framed in triangular motifs called crocchi: there are also delicate floral motifs inspired by the coasts and landscapes of Southern Italy and images of fascinating Mt. Etna, surrounded by ornamental friezes, picturesque ruins of the Greek temple of Castor and Pollux in the Valley of Temples, trinacrie and cartocci, a decorative motif similar to stylized acanthus leaves.
